A graduate of Cornell University, he began his career at Merrill Lynch & Co. and later held roles at Citigroup Global Markets, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Oppenheimer & Co., and served as a Visiting Lecturer in Princeton University's Department of Politics. Interview & speaking topics

Twelve years in the writing

Why a debut takes a decade, and what changed in the telling each time the story moved.

Wall Street from the inside

The trading floor at full volume, the price of a seat, and the culture that sets it.

A vineyard on the Lakeshore

The most coveted land in the Niagara Peninsula, fifteen miles from the US border on the Canadian side — and the slow arithmetic of the first vintage.

Foreclosure and the long fight

What happens after a bank changes the locks: regulators, insurers, subpoenas, three judges and a jury.

ERISA fiduciary governance

Committee process, investment policy, fee benchmarking and documented decisions, for plan sponsors and trustees.

From Manhattan to Cuba

The journey at the heart of the book — reinvention, inheritance, and what a man owes the people who came before him.
